Application Instructions


  1. Go to www.NorthTexasRentHomes.com and click Apply Now.
  2. Click New Account. From the drop-down menu, please pick the property. If the property is not in the drop down, please pick North Texas Homes. Enter the email address for the best person to contact, their legal first and last name (do NOT use any nicknames, this is the name we use to pull credit), their current address, and the best number to reach them at. It will ask to create a password so the application can be accessed again if needed.
  3. If another person over the age of 18 will be living in the house, click Add Additional Occupants. Please enter their legal name and email address. An application will be send directly to them. If they do not receive it in their email, please have them check their junk mail. Students and non-working adults over the age of 18 must have an application.
  4. If there are any persons UNDER 18 that will be residing in the property, please click Add Additional Occupants and choose Occupant. We will need their names and birthdates for the lease if approved.
  5. Under the pets, please fill out pet information. Pet deposit/rent may be required. Pets include any animal living in the residence including cats, dogs, fish, reptiles, rodents, birds, etc. There is a place to upload a picture of the animal that will be living in the residence.
  6. Under rental history, please provide the contact information for the last two years of rentals. If the house is owned by the applicant, please put that in the Reason for Leaving column and if the current residence is being sold or rented out. Family members do not count for rental reference. If there are less than two year of rental history, it may require a higher deposit or denial dependent on the rest of the application. If there is a ledger from the current landlord, feel free to send it via email (not required). Please no screenshots/pictures of screens, they are too small/hard to read. They must show an applicant’s name and two years of payments (if less than 2 years, provide what is available).
  7. Under Employment Information, please provide employer information for the last two years. Please let the current employer know to expect an employment verification. If we need to use a service, like the Work Number, please enter that information under Supervisor.
  8. Please answer the questions under General Questions.
  9. Please fill out vehicle information. If will be needed for the lease. Each applicant over 18 will be asked to provide vehicle information on their individual application. Vehicles include motorcycles, boats, RVs, etc that will be parked at the property.
  10. Under emergency contact please provide someone who will NOT be living in the house. This will be used only in an emergency where we cannot get a hold of an occupant, such as a natural disaster.
  11. Documents required are a valid picture government ID (passport, driver’s license, state ID card, etc. No work IDs) and proof of income. We will accept 6 months of bank statements, 30 days of the most current check stubs, SSI letters, and Child Support with AOG print out. Do not send screenshots or pictures of screens. They are too small/hard to read when uploaded. If using bank statements, please send either a .pdf scan or a .pdf download directly from the financial institution’s website. Proof of income must show applicant’s name, monthly income received (for SSI and other similar letters), company and YTD totals (if paycheck stubs). We will take a signed offer letter that is on the company letterhead with the salary (or payment per hour with average hours that will be worked in a week). It must have the applicant’s name. If documents cannot be uploaded, please email.
  12. Section 8 applicants please upload a copy of Section 8 voucher or email.
  13. Once complete, please hit Submit and there will be a prompt to pay the application fee. Application fees are $50 per applicant over 18 years of age. Each applicant will be prompted to pay their own application fee as they complete their application.
  14. If there is anything that the applicants would like us to know about the application, please email. Please note that the owner is the ultimate decision-maker on accepting applications.
